FAQ

All your gold questions answered

Who can send gold into Cash4MyGold?

Anyone who is 18 years old or over and who lives in the UK (and with some conditions, the Republic of Ireland)

How do I get paid?

Once you have accepted our offer we will send you cash or cheque payment immediately. This should arrive within the next couple of days via Royal Mail.

What happens if I decline your offer for my gold?

We will immediately return your gold to you via Special Delivery free of charge.

How much will you pay for my gold?

Our prices depend on the carat and weight of gold in your items and of course the latest available international gold price. To get an estimate on how much we will pay for British hallmarked gold by carat and weight, please use our Cash4myGold calculator located on our home page.

How do I get my gold to you?

First, visit our website to request your TGS Pack. Once you have received your free TGS Pack, place your gold items into the seal-easy bag provided. Label the bag and place it into the pre-paid Special Delivery envelope, go to your local post office and they will send it to us without delay.

Is the TGS Pack insured?

Yes. The Royal mail special delivery bag provided in your TGS pack is insured for up to the value of £500 with Royal Mail. We also provide insurance for in-transit items from us insured up to the value of £10,000.

I have precious stones in the gold items I will send you. Will they increase the value of the offer you will make for the gold?

No. Although the precious stones/precious non-gold articles may in their own right have a high value, they will not increase the value offer for your items. This is because the offer for your gold is solely determined by the gold content of the items. Any non-gold weight is deducted from the total weight of the gold item. This includes, precious and non-precious stones, non-gold and other metals.

Do you pay the same amount for foreign gold?

The amount we pay for foreign gold is generally slightly less compared to British Hallmarked gold. If the gold is not British hallmarked,  we need to arrange for accurate testing of the gold by an assayist to determine the purity and weight of the gold.

You have established TGS High Street stores around London, will I get the same price for my gold in the high street store as the price online?

No. The high street (retail) stores work under a different business model to Cash4MyGold.co.uk. These separate retail and online models have different overheads, staff, costs and savings to each other. Thanks to the benefits of the Cash4MyGold "gold only, online only" business model, we can pass down our cost benefits to the customer in the form of higher prices for your gold.

I live in the Republic of Ireland, can I still send you my gold?

Yes, however you must arrange your own delivery of the gold to us and we cannot accept any responsibility for the gold getting to us.

Will I be charged if I decline your offer for my gold and want it returned to me?

No. We will return your gold to you free of charge via Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Are there any hidden charges I should know about?

No. The only charges we enforce to the customer is for the return of non-gold sent to us. If all items in the bag are non-gold then we will charge £10 for the return of the items. This is only to cover the cost of delivery both to and from us via Royal mail. The only other charge we enforce is a charge of £10 when sending payment as cash instead of a cheque. This is to cover the cost of insurance for delivering cash via our delivery handler.
